Fatal Passenger Vehicle Crash in North-eastern Brazil Takes 15 Lives

The vehicle was transporting about 30 people when it veered off and slammed into a sandbank, causing it to flip on its side. How many injured individuals transported to nearby medical facilities remains unclear.
The trip began in the region of Bahia and ended tragically in Saloá, located in the neighbouring state of Pernambuco state.
Sequence of Events
Preliminary information suggest that the bus operator lost control of the bus, crossing into the oncoming traffic lane and hitting boulders on the roadside. After that, the driver got back into the correct lane but then collided with a sand embankment, causing the bus to flip over.
The cause behind the accident is currently being looked into. The driver sustained minor injuries and was found negative for alcohol.

A regional official expressed that the government is offering support for the rescue operation and identifying the victims. They remarked, "We are following the situation and sincerely regret the fatalities, the injuries and the pain of all the families."
